Conduire sans cellulaire au Quebec (Loi 42)

Il ne reste qu'un peu plus de deux semaines aux automobilistes pour modifier leur habitude de parler au téléphone portatif en conduisant.

À partir du 1er avril, le cellulaire devra être muni d'un dispositif main libre si un conducteur souhaite l'utiliser en mouvement.

«Le service main libre deviendra obligatoire, mais il y aura une période de grâce de trois mois», a expliqué le porte-parole de la Sûreté du Québec en Estrie, Louis-Philippe Ruel.

Au cours de cette période de sensibilisation, des dépliants seront remis par les corps policiers aux conducteurs fautifs.

«Nos policiers vont faire de la sensibilisation pendant cette période d'adaptation», a indiqué le porte-parole de la police de Sherbrooke, Martin Carrier.

Après le 1er juillet, un constat d'infraction sera remis aux automobilistes qui ne se sont pas pliés à cette modification du code de la sécurité routière dans le cadre de la loi 42. Le montant de l'amende oscillera entre 80 $ et 100 $ et trois points d'inaptitude seront ajoutés au dossier de conduite de l'automobiliste fautif.
